Hunger grows deep within,
Revolution ought to be born
A girl called Katniss Everdeen,
Meets Snow with eyes of scorn
The tributes stand bemused,
At the thought of a quarter quell
Their hearts and spirits abused,
Once again, the games will bring hell
The Mockingjay is freedom,
A symbolic creed of defiance
The girl on fire will truly lead them,
Forging a formidable alliance
Hope travels through them,
Fear also resides
When the Capital’s on their doorstep,
There will be nowhere to hide
She sits under a willow,
Resting her head on a pillow
Smiling down on her friend,
She blows a whistle,
As she plays with a thistle
Hoping the message will send
Katniss hears the Mockingjays sing,
She smiles and thinks of Rue
