Loving

Loving should be effortless,
showing it should be a joy.
Care for a heart with tenderness,
dont play with it, it's not a toy.

If loving doesn't come easy,
and you really don't know why.
Face up to the fact you're not in love,
there is no need to smile and lie.

She only wants to know for sure,
if you felt what she feels inside.
The reaction to your response,
will be her tears she's left to cry.

In time she will be glad she asked,
glad she was made aware.
To give up and move on forwards,
from a love that was never really there.
