How to Draw Insects

‘How to Draw Insects’. It was a gift, from someone close, hopefully closer, soon. It’s been 5 weeks now, that I’ve been here, resting, unable to move. Bed ridden, is the slang for it. Odd turn of phrase because I’m not riding anything, and it hasn’t been ridden, it’s not moved, not even an inch. Bed frozen, you could call it.
5 weeks, 4 hours, 22 minutes. Around week three was when I got how to draw insects, week four when I actually opened it, and about another half day before I actually starting learning, how to draw insects.
The only real life I have to go off is this fly that keeps waking me up, irritatingly. I could get it just right if it didn’t stop moving.
But flies aren’t what I need, I need to be outside, in summertime, to see if what I’ve got is very accurate. The pictures in this book are all black and white, there’s no colour, and butterflies have colour.
I know that’s her favourite animal/ insect, whatever, because she told me, I forget when and where, but that’s when I was outside, doing stuff.
Til then, I’ll work on it, she’ll be back soon, I hope, to see how the insects are coming along and I can show her, my black and white butterfly.
I could even ask her for some colour?
