My head has become as pressured as a steam drier in this
exam slam. My brow, heated like a hot water tank
can find no release in the gallons of coffee revision
laid in front of me: to these strained eyes,
the words merge like tea leaves
predicting my future in their hieroglyphic appearance.
Will I buckle under this pressure?
Can I filter through the muddy waters
to some serene lake's refuge
where relief awaits me?
Soon it will be over, and the hoards of notes
can resume their dusty shelves in my mind.
Until then, I am like a kettle on constant boil,
waiting impatiently to be released.
