Your Triangle - Your Mess

Saturated in your own mess
why do I smile in stupid appreciation?
you moan softly, in whispers of dire thought,
of what you are worth - how
misunderstood your unique talents are.
I used to believe what you said,
until I realised that was all you ever said.
Soaked in the ego's gall, you bathe,
whilst I chew myself dry of unknown outcomes;
the crust of your words do not quench my hunger.
Instead, they crumble through tired ears
and inwardly collapse in the reiteration
within my brain.
Oh ice age, eat my head and drown my thoughts
- my insides ache with the pretence of this indescision.
Your desire is inward.
You draw me in yet stamp
me out:
Stand inside your triangle and do not come out.
Shut me out.
Watch me melt
Just leave me alone, won't you? Please.
I am worth so much more,
so much more.
