J-----THE TWENTY FIRST BIRTHDAY

That evening Rosanna was the belle of the ball, all eyes were on her
now and although the orchestra was playing quite loudly now, but the
admiration and envy in the room was even louder.
When Rosanna really wanted to, she could turn heads with her beauty and
tonight was no exception.
Her twenty first Birthday celibration ball was going wonderfully.
The whole Island was celibrating. Graham was there at 9.30 to wish her
Birthday greeting's.
"This is my second glass of wine", she said as he gave her some wine to
toast her birthday.
"l must be careful as l don't drink much normally". "To your birthday
darling" he said raising the glass. She raised hers and they clicked
them together.

Graham asked her to dance. The wine made her merry and light headed
when she accepted. Putting down her glass on an available table she
joined Graham on the dance floor.
When they were into the second dance Graham suddenly spoke "Rosanna my
darling---l have been waiting for this moment to arrive, the moment
when l can finally ask----will you marry me". He whispered in her
ear.
She looked at him in shock, she had been thinking so much about Turak
that she had forgotten the way Graham felt about her.
"l will think about it and tell you later", she gasped.
"Darling don't think too hard about it"he Kissed her tenderly on the
lip's as they walzed around the room.
It was un-explected and pleasent, she responded breathlessly. But then
she caught her self and pushing him away a little angry,and feeling a
little passionate her heart beating wildly, returned to her seat.
She was arosed inside if only that had been Turak,
She fled to her sister and told her what had happend. "Come with
me",Lilain ordered and took her aside up to her bedroom. "Rose get a
grip on yourself, l have seen you flirting with Graham and dancing with
him as if you mean it, you are leading him up the garden path", she was
a little angry."you have no intention of marrying him than a fish could
live out of the water".
Rosanna's eyes burned with anger, "How dare you say that how do you
know that l wont marry him, in fact l will go right now to Graham and
tell him YES" she cried.
She turned to go but Lilian grabbed her " Don't do any thing that you
will regret Rosanna, what about Turak has your love for him died after
a couple of glasses of wine, what happen to all the talk of being
bonded to him"?.
Rosanna stopped in her track's "Turak", she slowly said his name.
"How can l bond or marry him, its like a curse that l cannot mange to
get rid of, its a constant nightmare, every time l look at Turak l feel
so much pain that l cannot bear to look it breaks my very heart and
soul and yet when l see Graham l see a love that is not as so deep and
it soothes my aching soul , Graham is a dear and he has been waiting so
long for an answer".
She flopped down on the bed and her face crumpled up as she started to
sob, "Oh if only this was out of my life, if only...Lilian was there
instantly,"Oh dear sweet Rose, you don't mean all this,l know you
don't". "I do , l do" Rosanna sobbed, " if only Turak would go back to
his world and never return, then l could get on with mine"....there was
a loud thud outside on the ground under the balcony of the open window,
seconds later , a howling sound going off into the distantance.
Rosanna jumped up her face was white "My God --Turak , he must of heard
this conversation. "He will do something terrible
She rush out on to the balcony"Turak come back, please come back", she
was sobbing more as she started to climb over the railing's, Lilian
pulled her back."No Rose you cannot climb over the railings you will
fall and break you neck".

"I didn't mean it, l didn't mean what l just said" Rosanna was
hysterical.
Lilian sighed "Look Kid,calm down and get changed then go down to the
Bike shed and take my hover bike. "You may be able to get to the caves
before Turak and stop him".

Rosanna changed quickly and put on
her waterproof cape and rushed down the stair's trying not to be seen
tearful, smiling for the sake of the guests who were still there
enjoying the party,they were all concernd as to why she left in a great
hurry.
Lilian acted on her behalf. "Rosanna has heard some rather distressing
news of a personal nature and had to leave immediatley. She hopes that
you have enjoyed it and that she will see you all again very
soon.

As the guest's began to leave, Lady Harriet Barrington, a sweet old
Dutchess, came with her calling card and a message for Rose to call her
if she ever needed her help and support".
"Thank you Lady Harriet, it was very kind of you to be concernd about
my sister and l will pass on the message", Lilian smiled and took the
card.
