Poem for a Friend at Christmastime

- 518 reads
Christmas lights blink,
softly bewildered
at the mad rush
Of frantic fathers
and manic mothers.
Rolls of red, gold, green,
Paper flows, like a river
across the floor.
Music about snow, and reindeer
In the background, softly
whispering a magical place
into your ears.
You, sit silently.
Eyes blurred, darting across
an already read page.
A pen in you head
takes notes for later.
A seed gets planted;
You save it for the night time.
Another story for you to
write.
Another story for me to escape into.
