Eulogy

The wreckage of her life
Is not fodder for memoirs or even petty gossip
Fate has long tempted her
To cross to the other side
It is a matter of time
It is a race that she is losing
Her endurance has failed
Her energy sapped
She has fought a vague battle
Her eulogy reads
Here lies Ms Hope Less,
One who started out
Thinking the sky is the limit
But ended in the abyss of dashed hopes
There is not a worthwhile thing
She has done in her life
Except grieving for a woman
Who no longer loves her
The only thing she remembers
On her death bed
Is the woman who once made
Her feel alive
That life is worth living
If only to see her smile
She has left no legacy of any worth
Except a reminder that
One can't live on
Chicken rice alone,
But on a love connection
