Lady Luna

From a berth above the tumult
of a mediocre life
I believe I sense her smiling,
somewhere, up beside those lights
Lady Luna,
moonlight lover
I think I feel her near me,
over, underneath the stars.
Gazing, longing, wandering.
What fools, what kids we are.
Lady Luna,
moonlight lover
Come on over fellow night's-child.
Lady, spin a web with me.
Nocturne, we are but a fable.
Lover, we spread far, the sea.
Lady Luna,
you are the waves of my heart
that beat down in torrents.
A river to swallow you whole,
and I choke.
You drown me in the nighttime
and I arise like smoke
just to succumb again
to my lady.
Luna, fellow gazer.
Love, I know not where you are
But I know you're somewhere smiling
and I wish upon a star,
to have you near,
to speak the truth
and to suffocate as well.
Lady,
Luna,
I am here, but where are you?
