The man sat alone and worked on one of the stones from his small stone quarry. It was already cut to the shape of a cross, and now he was busy carving out the intricate tribal patterns on it. The work was a combination of his tribal and spiritual beliefs, combined with the light and the hope of ‘The Cross.’ The sign of the ‘Son of Man’, signifying eternal love and brotherhood, among all men. Something old and something new. The intricate pattern of his art came from the inner being of his spirit as he carved the stone with meticulous care. He sat and worked for hours on end with his stone cutting implements, taking great care in each little detail. The finished work had to be precise and perfect. A work of spirit and faith in itself. The birds sang high up in the trees, and the sun was a lovely bright yellow, in the cloudy blue skies above. Still the man worked on, with the deft skill of his hands, and the wonder and imagination of his spirit. His faith was carved in stone.
