Speaking of Fairies

The Fairy's a creature who lives alone
in a house carved out of the trunk of a tree.
She's a great deal smaller than you or me
and she has no need of the telephone.

Her name is a secret never to be told
for if you whisper it on a moonlit night
when resting she is from her arduous flight,
you'll wish you hadn't been so bold.

For if you speak the fairy's name
away she will vanish before your eyes,
she will never reappear in another guise
and the forest will never be the same.
