When Julie left
I noticed how the corners
Of my room
reverted back to their normal cornery.

The unlit candles were more unlit than before.
Surprisingly the steadfast table
now wobbled like a bastard.
Shelves mis-angled like a set of wry grins
I had never noticed the verdant sneer
On the tree just outside my window.

But most prominent of all
was that there was way too much me
in this room, too much me missing Julie.

Down in the mansions there was a room,
steadying itself for its imminent completion.
Hearing Julie's car door slam
the curtains shivered and the coffee table shone.
