it's going to be a fantastic summer

It’s really almost proper summertime today. Finally
I’ve seen ladybirds, and wasps and butterflies.
All the usual things have started in the town; festivals, markets – stuff like that.
Later, they’ll be letting off fireworks and we’ll hear the crackly loud PA system as they run through all the announcements
I’m beginning to think about planning a holiday somewhere hot where I don’t have to do anything.
I miss you
Not that I’d ever say.
That wouldn’t be fair, but all the same I hope you know.
I hope you don’t think I don’t care
Anyway, it’s all going well and everything in the garden is as it should be
And I think my complicated love life might just work out after all,
That’s great too, because it’s where I want to be
You made me laugh, and you were kind, and generous
I hope you’re ok.
Because I’m not really
I mean I’m ok, but I’m not ok, if you see what I mean
Everything here is fantastic, wonderful, marvellous
There are even a few poppies in the hedgerows already
The best time of year for everything
After the long long winter
Did I say I missed you?
