THE PIRATES ADVENTURE

One dark stormy night on the sea a huge ship was sailing. It was called
H M S Atomic. It was made of wood and had huge sails. On it there was a
Captain, three sailors and a maid. The Captain was called Captain
Scarlet. He was very friendly and kind. He was a very good Captain. His
friends were sailors. They were called Sam, Harry and John. Sam smoked
a pipe and wore a hat with the ships name on it. Harry had neat hair
and wore a tweed jacket. He often did the sails. John was the lookout
person. He had one earring and had a scarf on his head. He also steered
the ship. The maid was called Rose. She did the washing, cooking and
scrubbing. They were all very nice.

A few miles away was another huge ship. This was Black Beard's ship. He
and his sailors were enemies with Captain Scarlet and his crew.
Suddenly, James the lookout boy spotted an island. `LAND AHOY! `he
shouted.

`Go and anchor the ship there then! ` Black Beard shouted and they
did.

Back to Captain Scarlet. They were doing fine, bobbing along on the
aquamarine sea. Suddenly CRASH! They had hit rocks and were sinking
fast.

`SWIM TO THE SHORE! ` Cried Captain Scarlet.

Now they were left stranded on an island without their faithful H M S
Atomic!
Oh dear!

`What are we going to do` asked Sam.

`I don't know, `answered Captain Scarlet. `I just don't know`.

`Look, ` cried Harry. `There is a bottle and it has something in it!
`

`Let's open it,' suggested Rose. `And see what's inside! `

So they did.

Inside was half a map.

`How come it is only half?' asked John.

`The other half was probably ripped off somewhere, `said Captain
Scarlet. `Let's try and find the treasure and the other half of the
map. ` None disagreed so they started to look.

On the other side of the island was Black Beard. The island that James
had seen was the same island that Captain Scarlet swam to when their
ship had been shipwrecked. What a coincidence!

`Hey` shouted Ben, another one of Black Beard's crew. `There is
something in the sand! `

`Give it to me `said Black Beard. Ben ran to pick it up and handed it
to Black Beard. `It is half a map`, cried Black Beard. `We must find
the other half of it so we can find the treasure! START LOOKING NOW!
`

No one dared to argue with Black Beard when he was in one of his
tempers (most of them were over Captain Scarlet and treasure!) So they
pulled out their spades and started digging immediately!

Meanwhile, Captain Scarlet and his crew were not digging but they were
following their half of the map. If you had not already realised, both
bits of map, Black Beards and Captain Scarlet's were the same map just
ripped in half.

Captain Scarlet and his sailors had just started to walk when they
heard a rumbling sound.

`What's that `asked Rose.

`I...I think I know what it is` stammered Harry.

`What` cried everyone else.

`It's that volcano over the hill and I think it's about to blow up!
`cried Harry.

`AAAHHHHHH!!!!!` bellowed everyone.

`Climb onto that rock` shouted Captain Scarlet. Harry, John, Sam and
Captain Scarlet climbed onto the rock but Rose didn't.

`Why aren't you coming up Rose? ` called Captain Scarlet impatiently
from the top of the rock.

`I can't climb! `said poor Rose.

`Well . . . . jump and grab hold of my hands then, `suggested Sam,`Then
I can pull you up beside us. But we'll have to hurry, the volcano's
about to explode! `

`OK` said Rose `I will try`. She missed the first time. The second time
she caught Sam's hand just in time because, a second after that, lava
came spilling down the hill.

`That was close` said Harry and they climbed off the rock.

While that was going on Black Beard and his crew weren't having much
luck ether.

`I think I have found something` cried James.

`Let me see it, ` snapped Black Beard, pushing James out of the way.
`No. It's not a treasure chest, idiot! It's an old tin can! `

`What's that coming towards us? ` asked Ben suddenly.`Oh, no!! It looks
like . . . . . . . LAVA!!!!!!!

`WHAT` cried Black Beard. `OH NOOOO!!!! IT IS! `

`Climb up a tree, quick!! ` shouted Ben.

`That was a close one. ` said James when they had all climbed up.

`Yes, ` said Black Beard, `Now lets get digging again. NOW! `

Meanwhile Captain Scarlet was having trouble.

`I'm hungry` said Rose `and tired`.

`So am I, `complained Harry and John.

`Me, too and my feet hurt from walking too far, `whined Sam.

`We will camp here for tonight, ` decided Captain Scarlet. `We will
pitch our tents up over in that clearing and then we can go in search
of food. `

In five minutes they had put up their tents and were looking for food.
They weren't having much luck.

`Hey, `shouted Harry. `I've found some coconuts and berries. `

`Chuck them on the floor then, `replied Captain Scarlet. `so we can
collect them. `

`Okay, `called Harry. He started to throw them down to where Captain
Scarlet and his crew were waiting.

While that was happening Black Beard and his crew were eating the food
they had taken off the ship.

`Put up the tents, and do it quickly` Black beard shouted after they
had eaten some food.

They did it in double quick time as Black Beard was getting in a bad
mood because they hadn't found the treasure. When James and Ben had put
up the tents it was night time so they went to bed.

Next morning it was a very hot day. Black Beard woke James and Ben up
and then shouted, `Get up and have breakfast. After that you can do
some more digging while I figure where we go next on the map. `

James and Ben had to do that so they started to eat breakfast very
quickly indeed.

Meanwhile Captain Scarlet and his friends were eating the leftovers
from last night.

`Let's go that way, `said Captain Scarlet when they had finished,
pointing to his right. `We can follow the path and turn round to face
south as soon as possible. `

Everyone agreed so they started. A few minutes after they had started
walking they heard a loud hissing noise.

`W.... w...what's that?` stammered Harry.

`I think its snakes` replied Rose. She was right because a second after
that snakes came from every direction.

`RUN FOR YOUR LIVES` cried Captain Scarlet.

They didn't need telling twice. John, Harry, Rose and Captain Scarlet
ran but Sam didn't. The snakes had caught him!

`Grab my hand! ` shouted Captain Scarlet `Then we can pull you to us!
`

`OK` shouted Sam.

Then they started to pull and pull and pull. Eventually they pulled Sam
out of the snake's reach.

`That was a close one` said John.

`Yes `said Captain Scarlet. `But we've found the best spot to do some
digging`.

Black beard's crew wasn't having much luck ether. Ben and James kept on
digging but found litter until Ben shouted `I HAVE FOUND SOMETHING AND
IT IS A LITTLE BIT SPARKLY`.

`Bring it here then idiot` shouted Black Beard, and do it
quickly.

Ben gave the sparkly thing to Black Beard.

`Idiot` said Black Beard. `It is only a necklace. Now lets move
on'.

`I don't think we can sir `said James

`Why not` asked Black Beard?

`Because we're surrounded by snakes` said James.

`WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO IN THE FIRST PLACE? Shouted Black Beard.

Suddenly the snakes were gone. Black Beard's shout had frightened the
snakes away.

`That's better' said Black Beard. `Now we are able to find another spot
to dig on`, and they went.

Meanwhile Captain Scarlet and his crew were doing well. They had found
8 gold coins,2 rings,1 gold crown, rubes and diamonds.

`I HAVE FOUND SOME MORE DIAMONDS` shouted Rose.

`Put them on the pile then` said Captain Scarlet.

Rose did as she was told. When she was putting the diamonds on the pile
she glanced at the map and saw they had come to the end of it.

`What are we going to do now we are off the map`? She asked Captain
Scarlet
`I don't know Rose `said Captain Scarlet. `I just don't know`.

Sam came up. `I'm so tired` he said. `Can we go to bed now? `

`OK `said Captain Scarlet. `We will go to bed now. `

`Shall I go and tell Harry to go to bed now? ` asked Rose.

`Yes` said Captain Scarlet. `Sam and I will pitch the tents in that
space there. OK? `

Everyone nodded.

`Lets get started then` said Captain Scarlet and off they went.

After 5 minutes they were all back. ` Now we can get some sleep` said
Captain Scarlet. `Good night to all of you`. Then it was quite quiet,
and if you went there all you would here is snores.

In the morning Captain Scarlet woke Rose, Sam and Harry very early in
the morning.` Get up` said Captain Scarlet.

`What` said Harry groggily.

`Get up` said Captain Scarlet again.

`Why`? Said Harry a bit more awake .

`Because I now know where we are going and I don't want to forget it`
answered Captain Scarlet. `Get dressed now I need to wake the others
and out he went. Harry got dressed quickly and then went outside to eat
his breakfast with the others. After a hurried breakfast they set
off.

Black Beard and his lot were already up and about looking and
digging.

`Ah ` said Black Beard. ` The perfect place to start digging`.

Ben and James were just sanding there.

`Well get a move on. ` Shouted Black Beard `Start to dig`

`What's that up ahead `? asked James. `It looks like people`.

James was right. It was people. In fact it was Captain Scarlet's
crew.

When they saw each other the captains were very angry. The members of
the crew had to pull their Captains back to stop them hitting one
another.

Suddenly Black Beard shouted ATTACK! For a few minutes there was a very
BIG fight. People leaped at each other as well as swords swishing from
both captains.

Suddenly they all stopped. they were all looking at the same direction.
Somehow I don't know how but somehow they had made a hole, and in that
hole was a treasure chest.

At exactly the same moment the two captains took out their swords and
started to fight. After 10 minutes of fighting it had happened. Captain
Scarlet had killed Black Beard. Now Captain Scarlet turned on Ben and
James. They had no swords so they positively fled. Captain Scarlet and
his crew were very happy. They took out the chest and opened it. Inside
there were necklaces, rings, gold crowns, jewels diamonds, rubes,
pearls, bracelets and coins. It was very late so they pitched their
tents and went straight to sleep.

In the morning they all had a quick breakfast then tried to think of
away to build a boat. In the end Sam said `I suppose we could build a
raft out of wood`. That was the best thing they could think of so they
started to make it. Harry and Sam got the wood while Rose and Captain
Scarlet made the raft itself. At long last the raft was ready. They all
helped to push the raft down to the waters edge. They pushed the raft
onto the water and then climbed on. It was soon dark so they went to
bed. In the morning they were nearly home. `We are nearly home `said
Sam `I will miss all of you`. Then they were there. Their wife's were
very happy. In the end Captain Scarlet said `we will share the treasure
`. Then when they had said good bye to each other they went home but
they still visit each other.
