THE HUNGER
Waiting in silence in the beautiful dark world
Seeking out its victims in new ways ate every turn
The night can be a comforting solace to those of this nature
If only the prey could be more and more in despair
The light of day takes the hunger away
Time spent to be in with those of the so-called normal
Mulling about in the usual actions of the waking man
Searching for the meaning of what exactly it is that should already be
known
Wandering aimlessly making the grade in this thing called life
Loved and warmed by those closest
Yet change will come before it is willed to happen
The unforeseen things that can't be altered
The mind goes into deep slumber
The pangs of hunger then begin anew
The state of this being is more than words can truly convey
The feeding time is upon the lateness of the hour
The night again commands the insatiable thirst
Traveling in the darkness longing for closure
Spying on one so fair and alone
Pausing for a moment before gorging in delight
