Tests. They come in different ways. A math quiz at school, an English final, even a fitness test. There’s boundless numbers of tests, but we’re talking about the kind that tests a person. The kind that see who a person really is, whether that person will break or snap. We’re not talking one test, one moment of strength. No, we’re taking an entire lifetime of tests constantly struggling and proving yourself time and time again. No matter what gets thrown at you next you’re ready for the challenge. We’ve all experienced these some of us worse than others, and our hero here has had many tests. More than can be counted. Internally he’s a raging fire struggling to combat the flames of his rage, and externally he struggles with family, loved ones friends, addiction. You name it Alexander has withstood it, but you might say sure, I’ve been through similar things, but Alexander has a curse. He has a voice, and not the crazy hallucination kind of voice, but a real entity that lives inside him. He doesn’t know where it came from or what it truly is but it’s been there for as long as he can remember, and not only that but it’s pu. It constantly attacks him trying to force him to do bad things, most of the time failing. This though is just another test to Alexander, but let’s put Alexander’s tests into order let me tell you about Alexander’s journey. Of course it’s not the world as you know it now. It’s far far different. There are witches, dragons, magic, and many more things in the world Alexander lives in, but even so his tests aren’t that different from the real world test you and I go through everyday. We’ll start at the beginning when our young hero was born. Alexander was born into a poor family, and he was the first born child of four. Being the first born has its advantages for a while, but the longer you’re there the more the attention is focused on you. Alexander’s parents weren’t a good match for each other so fighting brewed and speaking of brewing his parents also drank their nights away only making the fighting worse, and a lot of the time taking it out on poor Alexander, but even from a young age he had something special about him. He never let anything get him down. As hard as that seems to comprehend it’s true. Even as a young boy he was tested many times by his belligerent parents. They tested his strength of both body and mind, and with every test he just grew that much more resilient, and as he grew older, bigger, and stronger he started to take the tests head on until one day. His dad was drunk like usual, and doing the usual thing, and as usual Alexander just stood there listening to every degrading word his dad could say, and simply nodding his head until someone spoke out.
“Why do you sit here. Why do you take this from this disgusting excuse of a human, and why do you continue to beg for his approval?” The voice was deep and Alexander heard it everywhere at once but also from deep inside. The voice spoke with wisdom, and power. Alexander could do nothing but ponder what just spoke to him. He turned his attention away from his father looking around to see who or what spoke, and immediately his father noticed.
“Duck.” Said the voice, and with an almost unnoticeable urge Alexander ducked and a full beer can flew over right where his head was. By the time he stood back up his father was already coming towards him, and before he could react hiss as grabbed him, but right as he did Alexander felt a surge of strength force it’s way through his body. The feeling was unnatural, but it felt good, and then as his father was trying to force him to the ground he yelled with all his might, and pushed his dad off himself. Not realizing how much strength he had when he shoved his father, he flew backwards and went straight through the wall with such force he slid for countless feet into the yard outside. Not knowing what to do the only thing that came to mind was run, and he couldn’t tell if he put that there or if the voice did, but there was no time to think so he just ran and never looked back.
