**Harmony's POV**
"Miss Adams!"
The voice yells. I look up and see my 5th period teacher, Mrs. Palden.
"Yes ma'am?" I say quietly.
"This is the third time you have fallen asleep in the last week. You'll be staying after class today," she demands with her "threatening" voice. She almost always uses that voice while addressing me, seeing as how she wouldn't give me any thought unless I was partaking in something that she could reprimand me for doing.
"Yes, Mrs. Palden," I respond. I don't know how she could be a "Mrs." anyways. Who would want to marry a wretch like her? I feel sorry for the poor soul that would have to put up with that.
I zone out for the rest of class after that little episode.
I snap out of my daydream after I hear the ring of the school bell. I groan when I remember that I have to talk to Mrs. Palden. I walk up to her desk.
"What did you want to talk to me about, Mrs. Palden?" I ask as happily as I can.
"You have not been paying attention at all in my class, and it is slowly starting to affect your grades. Is there something going on that I should be informed of?"
"No, ma'am. It's just that I can't sleep that much at night, that's all. Nothing to worry about," I say with a smile.
"Okay, Harmony. I'm going to trust you on this one. Just make sure you go to bed early and study," she says.
"Yes, Mrs. Palden. Bye," I smile and head out the door.
I decide to skip the rest of the day and head home.
I walk down the hallway to my locker and grab my books and hang around for a few minutes until the hallway is empty, that way it won't look too suspicious for me to leave. I don't feel like getting in trouble again today.
As the halls get more and more deserted I start to head out. I get lost in thought on the way out, though, and slam face first into the wall. Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention I'm a total klutz. I almost fall backwards but instead of going straight to the floor something catches me. Or, should I say, someone.
As I start to regain my balance I stand up on my own legs and turn around to see what, or who had just saved me from plummeting to the ground.
I look up and get lost in his green orbs. They were this really interesting shade of jade and it was easy to stare into them for hours, which I was starting to do right now. He had brown, soft-looking locks and is not skinny, nor overly muscular. He did have a nice body though, and was very attractive. He was tan and had a lip ring, but he didn't really look like a bad ass, because he had a cute face. Not in a baby-ish way, though. I had better say something right now though, I look like an idiot.
"N-nice catch," I say quietly, looking down to my shoes. My cheeks are probably burning red from the embarrassment of staring at him and then stuttering.
"Thanks," he says and smirks.
"No, thank you. If it wasn't for you I might have needed some stitches," I reply truthfully. He chuckles.
"No problem," he smiles. "So, are you ditching, too?"
"Um...yeah." I admit sheepishly.
"Cool. Maybe we could go get ice cream or something?" he smiles invitingly.
"But...didn't we just meet for the first time? I don't even know your name," I crinkle my eyebrows together confusedly.
"My name is Dylan. Dylan Harper. Over ice cream we could get to know each other," he points out. "Plus, you're already falling for me, if you haven't noticed." he says and winks. I laugh.
"Hey Dylan, I'm Harmony Adams," I smile. "And I would be delighted to go for ice cream with you," we laugh. I know this sounds weird, going for ice cream with a boy that I just now met, but it felt totally normal. So, I decided to just go with it.
"Awesome. My car is right out front," he says.
"Okay."
We start to walk to his car. This should be interesting, I think to myself.
