Dreading your goodbyes

Every time you leave
Another crack appears in my heart
I try to be strong
I try to be a man
But a fear overcomes me

It pains me to think
You'll forget how I feel
So I daydream the nights
And sleepwalk the days
With my future misplaced

And somewhere in my heart
I lose sight of myself
Like a young man
In an old mans shoes
I concede to the inevitable

And wait for my turn to die.
