The Yonder Mountainside

Up yonder on the mountainside,
Where daylight fears to tread.
The place the fallen stars reside,
To claim both live and dead.
There's an evil on the mountainside,
And an evil which is real.
A dwelling of creatures of the waterless places,
Of which shan't be revealed.
Shadows lurk beneath the trees,
Throughout the forest path.
Which creep up to the mountainside,
No man nor beast dare pass.
Upon the hour of the moonlight's glow,
The creatures wake and stir.
Only at this time you know,
That stars do walk the earth.
But as the sunrise greets the day,
And darkness cannot hide.
The shadows fall to vail the stars,
On the yonder mountainside.
