G: Disappointment

I find belief in the past: pictures found in archives,
the stories then produced emotion - not what we see today.
Suffering was a virtue then a cause to well the eyes;
the sympathy expressed was real but now it's just 'okay . . .'
The news reduced to entertainment: crisis, war, despair;
we fret much more for the life of a plant,
a case of 'we just don't care.'
The politicians speak of welfare, we quickly nod our heads
but slowly shake them back again when we see it's to our cost.
We were raped by the press and left as though we're dead,
standing tall as symbols of a world where passion has been lost.
Gods biggest flaw of all creation, He seemed to have to ration
an essential part of our persona, that is
human compassion.
