Instructional videotapes

This workshops gone bad
The food is terrible
The
teachers are insulting us
The projector isn't
working
And they're throwing chairs at each
other

So I crawl along the floor
As if
escaping from a fire
Once I'm in the hallway
The
glass to the door breaks
I turn back
around

To find a chair stuck in the
door
Which is removed promptly
And hurled at some one
else
But I remove myself from the door
When a chair
is thrown at me

Yet, I am undeterred
There
will be differences of opinion
Obviously some violently
so
Because today it doesn't matter
I'll be published
tomorrow somehow

Go back to my
"life"
Packing boxes on an assembly line
Selling
clothes on my lunch break
Gives me money for
gas
Keeps the server running another day

So
they can view my website
Look at my photographs
And
other artwork that won't move
Read over my old
poems
Think about places I've been

Back in
the 80's
Everyone wanted to help someone
You could
build your vocabulary
Have affirmations fed into your
consciousness
As long as you had a cassette
recorder

Those were interesting
times
Although I have to help myself today
I see the
leaves fall to the ground
Enjoy this time of the year while
it's here
Anticipating the change that is soon to come
