You hold me in your arms
Take away my pain.
Keep me safe from hurt
And show me love again.

You treat my like a daughter
But I don't know why.
I try not to question the reason
You hug me when I cry.

There is a bond between us
That cannot be described.
Even though I try to
Access is always denied.

How do you know I'm down
And feeling so depressed?
I hide it well from the others
But still you see I'm stressed.

From the moment I first saw you
I knew you'd understand.
I don't know how it hit me
That you'd show me a new land.

You gave me a strong voice
With which I can speak.
A place to rest my head
When I was weary and weak.

Thank you is not enough
To express how I feel.
And still our friendship
Seems, at times, surreal.
