You, my friend

Alone in my room I cry,
I wish to be at home,
To soar on the wings of a bird,
Home to the nest I'd fly.
With the company of you, my friend,
I'm no longer alone.
My wings furl under,
My flight has reached an end.
Pain travels far away,
Trapped thoughts run free.
As long as you're there,
I have a good and happy day.
My mood has improved,
The smile returns.
Guilt has gone from my heart,
From me the sadness you have removed.
