Silver mist swirls as the white horses ride
Where mariners gave their last breath to the tide;
Ethereal ships on the glassy seas glide -
And the end of their voyage is Never.

- - - They sail the vast oceans where Time's rivers flow;
- - - They fly from the Sun as they follow the Moon,
- - - And they're lost in the twilight forever.

They sail through the blue night, the galleons of old,
Seeking far lands with their visions of gold,
To find those lost cities of long, long ago
With their shores of pale sand and bright water.
- - - Ghostships of quicksilver, where do they go
- - - Among the blue deeps where the eerie mists glow;
- - - There's neither a dawn nor a sunset they see,
- - - But they're bound in the shadows forever.

Spectres in moonlight the Dragonwraiths ride,
The longships of Vikings that broke on the tide;
Far North to their havens where cold fjords bide,
To the canyons of ice where they foundered.
- - - Ghostships of quicksilver, where do they go?
- - - They search for Valhalla and silently row;
- - - Their battles forgotten, they yearn for their rest -
- - - But their journey's not over - not ever.

But what of the ships that have perished beyond -
The spaceships of Earth that were doomed, that are gone?
The solar wind drives them relentlessly on
So they travel forever and ever.
- - - Ghostships of quicksilver, where will they go?
- - - They count the dark light-years where Time's eon's flow.
- - - They scan for the Earth in the starfields of space
- - - Till they slip through the stargate forever.

- - - Quicksilver Voyagers, where do they go?
- - - The Heaven is vast as the ocean below;
- - - From twilight they come and through twilight they go
- - - As the moonlight falls earthward forever .......
