LAMIA

The sky is blue and silver, the Earth is gold and green;
But I know of a fairer world whose wonders I have seen,
I love the Lady Lamia, and she is Elfin-born;
She took me to her citadel, never to return.
She showed me fairy palaces of crystal and of quartz;
She showed me realms of fantasy beyond my earthly thoughts;
She told me they would all be mine if with her I would dine;
And I became her prisoner until the end of Time.
- - - - Lamia, Lamia, cold as fallen snow;
- - - - Lamia, Lamia, when will you let me go?
Lamia was golden, Lamia was wise;
Lamia was like the moon dreaming in the skies;
Lamia was bright as flame, yet cruel as the cold -
For now I know 'I love you' was the first lie ever told.
Beware of Elfin sorcery, beware of Elfin lore;
Never take the food they give, nor drink the wine they pour.
And never follow Lamia, though she be bright as day -
Your love will bind her demon heart to steal your life away.
- - - - Lamia, Lamia, cold as fallen snow;
- - - - Lamia, Lamia, When will you let me go,
- - - - When will you let me go?
