Looking back from the future

In ten years time come round to dinner
So we can talk about our life
By then we'll probably both be married
So you can bring your wife
Don't forget to bring snaps of your kids
By then you'll have at least three
I'll have two, a boy and a girl
Who look like him and me
We'll look back on the good old days
The things we got up to then!
What about the time that we....
Do you remember when....?
And then we'll think how far we've come
You'll say "Well I never,
I bet you didn't imagine this
Back when we lived together"

This was written as a "goodbye gift" for my best friend and house mate
at University. According to the best laid plans it's now 11 years on
and neither of us is married or has kids! We are however still the best
of friends and confident that things will turn out right - just on a
different timescale!
