I used to practice voodoo
and sacrifice allowance to th local
apothecary in exchange for herbs
which either fermented with vinegar
on the window sill or stinking,
staling in plastic containers
causing a juvenile hocus of their own.

Voodoo (as I saw it) was whipping around
with a doll until you
know nothing else but rave ceremonial dance,
and something burns.
