‘Dear Mary’, the email read. ‘Really sorry not to have got back sooner. I was aware that you called and left a message. It was genuinely on my list of things to do but due to pressure of work, it slipped my mind’ – “HUH! Like hell, it did” Mary exclaimed, out loud. ‘Anyway, I have a proposition to discuss with you. Would you be willing to take on a consultancy role for the production – for a suitable monetary consideration of course? It would entail travelling to the UK, consulting with the production crew, the cast, including our new recruit, Brooke Malory…”
“Hmm,” said Mary, to herself. “I wonder what ‘a suitable monetary consideration’ would be.”
But a few dollars would come in handy; the Maryfield Senior Home fees weren’t getting any less and a little jaunt to the UK (was that part of England?) would be nice. Not sure what to make of this new Brooke Malory woman, though.
