Everyone I know
called Joe
seems to be a guitarist
but when I met Joe Dudderidge
I didn't realise how famous he was
Short and muscular, a young barge
with stubble like the muck whipped up the chassis of a tractor
The girls stared as moodily as cows
mooing affectionately as he barked
with my guitar, and
moved off when he handed it back.
On the stage that night, my third occasion
I was introduced by the speakers
as a wannabe Joe Dudderidge
Now this poem proves it
