Remember the last year in new year

2003 is almost here,

Its time to laugh,

and kick start the year.

The friends are round,

its always fun,

to wave away,

the year just done.

Time marches on,

swept away with tide,

into memory,

the years all mine.

The people we lost,

stay forever locked,

the year has gone,

set sail and docked.

That thing we once did and remember,

appears to move further away,

the year has gone but that thing-

if we remember, it hasn't moved and will
always stay.

All we have is memory,

once all is said and done,

things written down in our notebooks,

and tossed away in cold shun.

Tomorrow it is new year,

but just another day,

a brand new number,

that won't be here to stay.

Just like the people lost,

trapped forever but free in time,

they stay together with that year,

that year, it was their crown and shine.

So throw your hands up for new year,

the year just gone its all still there,

its there with everything you've done,

But now its time to get up, and move on.
