To My Nan
To have you in my life, I am so very glad,
You are my treasured Nan, Mother of my Dad.
I have so many memories, of my childhood days with you,
Our weekends in the Caravan and the fun things that we'd do.
I remember every Saturday, everyone would gather at your house,
You couldn't squeeze another person in, not even a little mouse.
All my Aunts and Uncles and all my cousins too,
Everyone would be there, to spend Saturday with you.
Saturday was shopping day, and off to town we'd go,
The weather never stopped you, be it rain or shine or snow.
I was only little, and shopping wasn't fun,
But I loved it when we always stopped for tea and a currant bun.
Eventually I grew, and then I moved away,
But things were never quite the same as shopping on Saturday.
But my memories are mine to keep, and they are safe within my
heart,
And as long as I always have them, then we'll never be apart.
