Where are the words?

White paper lies before me
My pen is in my hand
I am staring at the lines
Where are the words?

I try to write some
Maybe even a few more
But the paper does not fill
Where are the words?

I do not normally stare long
Not normally my pen floats
Above paper for long
But where now are the words?

The words to tell you of my longing
My craving to see you again
The words that say how much
More I love you now

Where are they...the words
That tell you I need you...so much
That say, please take my hands
Lead me...guide me

Where are the words?
That make you smile at me
That make you take me into your arms
And hold me as I love to be held

The words are still there
Ready to be used...to tell you
How much...how high...how deep
But to express what I do feel
These words no longer suffice
No longer are enough

And so, here is my white paper
And so, here is my pen floating
But they are not embracing
I am out of words
For loving you
