There's things I know I can't say to you
at this point, I stay silent. I stay silent
and you fill my empty gaping silence
with your beautiful sounds, it doesn't
matter if they're words because it's beautiful
to hear your noise, the words you say are
irrelevant. Just the fact that we're touching
makes me want to know every part of you,
to know why and to know...to know.
We are both smiling, smiling, but I wish we were
not. I cannot stay smiling silence when
the silence need not be filled! Unhappy passion
should fill you as it does me, if we drop our smiles;
your touching me and my touching you would seem
so much more sincere if we both knew...knew...
knew...what? To know it is not a lie or a joke, to know...
to know...what? To know that if we drop our smiles and words
then the silence will roll over us like a duvet and we can
sleep together because of the peaceful noiseless bird
that we have, sucking the pressure out of the room, leaving us
floating. Floating in a paradeless, soft cell.
Floating. Holding your me in a bed in a cell,
Touching my you without interruption or time,
But we move our different worlds closer to compare notes on our
situation,
and I stay stoic and you stay laughing, I a
question mark, you an
exclamation mark.
