Knit one, purl one, it's time I did those chores
Knit one, purl one, ironing wash the floors
knit one , purl two, it's almost half-past three
Slip one, cable one, I must prepare the tea
Knit one, purl two, I'm pleased how this has grown
Knit two together, be nice when It's all sewn
Purl two together, there's someone at the door
Now they've gone, I'll start again once more

Oh! damn no, now I'm feeling so down hearted
My knitting has unravelled, and I'm back to where I started.
