The Job Application

Dear Sir,

In the paper I read your ad
Sounds just the job for me
I know my writing's pretty bad
But it's readable, you'll agree
My name is Peter Edward Drew
I'll soon be thirty four
I think my height, is six foot two
Not married, well I was before
I've got no qualifications
Though you could say I'm self taught
There've been many accusations
Up to now, I've never been caught
I would be a very hard worker
And I'd put in over-time
I've never really been a shirker
Giving up my life of crime
Looking forward to your reply
If you've not written, or not rang
I'll want to know the reason why
We'll be over, me and the gang.
