Banished Sailor

The grand ship edged closer to the shore. Among the ship were many a young sailor hungry for a piece of shore leave life: a life full of drinking, sex and money spending before the inevitable haul back to the Seven Seas. One young sailor had just as much enthusiasm to relax from the stresses of sailing. He spent all of the money he had in one night of debauchery. He was able to charm any a fair maiden with his wild blue eyes and his ruffled blonde hair, not to mention his deep and mesmerising tone of voice.
One woman did manage to harbour some bit of luck with him when he was at the height of his drunkenness. Unlike the others who vied for the sailor's attention, this woman was picked as the one the sailor would get on down with. However, Lady Luck would turn to frown upon her. During their fun, a knife had been drawn from the sailor's pocket. The sailor was unaware by all this until he awoke to find the bed drowned in a sea of red and the woman lifeless and bare. Not knowing any better, he dressed himself and fled.
Some years later after being banished North, the sailor sat on his boat. He looked out to sea and thought about all of the things he missed of his home town. He thought of the bright and chirpy birds that sang sweet melodies at the rise of dawn. He thought of the girl next door, a good-natured woman whom the sailor would've pursued when he would've retired from sailing. He thought of the smiles and happiness in the tiny town he called home. Now there were moaning seagulls hungry for their prey. Now there was not a woman within 100 miles. The only thing he had left was the ghost of the woman murdered by his unthinking actions.
