Smoky green mist rises from the field
The spotlights shine like cats eyes
The moon reflects their call, Bright lights.
An Aura surrounds me, invokes my spirit
I breathe deep, nervousness pushed to the floor.
Step.
By step.
I drift in my bubble to the main door,
Hes waiting, smile and eyes smouldering
Each look exchanged another conversation,
another moment in time, in to the future.
A metre away from embrace, yet
Worlds away from everywhere else
A new planet created, mars or venus? both?
Your eyes energize my arm to raise it
Perfect colours, the coursage it matches my dress,
Great minds thinking alike.
Soft lighting and music almost like a fairytale,
25 steps to the dance,
The shortest marathon I'll ever have to race,
You take my arm, we're two links in a chain
sweet whispers in my ear calm my humming heart,
15 steps in, we turn to each other,
softly pressed lips, arms like giftwrapping on a gift,
This first embrace just a small part of whats to be,
I want to be closer, posess your thoughts,
Be all of your feelings not just deja vu.
Grand ballroom doors swoop open
trancing us in to its glory with other hopeful couples,
We float through in to the crowd of celebration,
The end of a school life, the start of the prom,
The start of our lives.
