Every morning my mouth sours
A bitter sweet honesty,
I can stare into the reflection for hours
But it won't change the imperfections
Those no-one see
A mask to enforce a lie
I wear it everyday, after the morning.
A cleansing wipe rids impurities
But only for a second
Just one moment in eternal time.
Festering below my skin
Deeper than any eyes can see
Unpenetrable through the fake smile
A mask I have to wear to conceal all
The honesty too strong to wear.
