The Pink Roses

The sun shone down on the pink roses. Next to the pink roses was a
fairy. She was coloured in pink and blue. Her white webbed wings helped
her to fly. She was not alone in this colourful garden. Her mate Sally
was pruning the white cheery trees that lay along the hedge. Besides
the hedge and the trees there were wired fencing to keep unwanted
animals and fairies away from the garden. The green grass had just been
cut and the fairy garden began to grow with tulips. "I like the fairy
garden. It makes me happy," Sally spoke hoping that Jessica would say
something. Jessica ignored her. She just wanted to be alone with her
pink roses. "We can invite the other fairies for tea. They would like
to come for tea. Our garden is lovely", Sighed Sally. She wanted to
cheer Jessica up. Jessica had been ill for a long time. She had not
seen the out side world for two years. Although she had been cured,
Jessica herself had not wandered into the fairyland. All she wanted to
do was sit by the pink roses that she had planted. "Jessica, you have
to meet and talk to us. We are your friends," Sally replied. Jessica
didn't look at her friend. She wanted to be left alone. "The phones
ringing. I will come back after lunch," mumbled sally.
An hour had passed; Jessica was still sitting next to the roses. She
was in deep thought. She dreamed about having many friends, eating
chocolate and selling her own things like pink roses. She wanted to
talk but being alone for a long time made her feel uncomfortable and
sad. She needed to remember the good old days. Suddenly she could hear
the soft pink gate open. She looked up to see who it was. "Hi. Jessica.
I hear your better, its Adam," he spoke in a charming voice. A tear
fell onto the single rose head that she had cut off. Looking at him,
she could see his white scare on his chin. "How did you get that?" she
asked him. Blushing he sat down next to her and smiled. "I was in a
fight with the meanest fairy. I don't know her name. We argued about
the pink roses. She wants to destroy pink forever," Adam replied
looking at the rose. Jessica began to think. Pink was everyone's
favourite colour. It helped them to work with each other and bring
peace towards the land. "She can't kill the roses. Without the pink,
there wouldn't be a use for fairly land. Everyone will forget about
us," Jessica spoke for the first time in months.
" We can work as a team. The meanest fairy does not know who you are.
You can pretend to be another mean fairy," Adam replied. Jessica shook
her head.
"Everyone knows me. I have not been out of the fairy garden for two
years. Many of them," before she could finish making her excuses she
could hear another fairy running into the garden. This was no usual
happy going whistling fairy. Both of them could hear cackles and
laughter. "Hide," she whispered into his ears.
Minute's later, behind the round blue shrubs another fairy dressed in
black satin with green webbed wings approached the green grass. She did
look ugly and even evil. She began to pass the cherry tress and stopped
outside Jessica patch of roses. "It's the fairy," he whispered
back.
"The one who wants to get rid of pink," Jessica mumbled in a loud
voice.
"Quiet. She will hurt us," he mumbled. Both of them were watching the
meanest fairy. The meanest fairy began to fumble in her green webbed
wings for the dark green seeds. Jessica knew what the meanest fairy was
going to do. She could not see her pink roses die in seconds. "I am
going to stop her," Jessica shouted making the meanest fairy look at
the shrubs that they were hiding behind.
Suddenly Jessica jumped out. "I think you have trespassed. Go away or
else I will get Sally and the others," Jessica demanded. The meanest
fairy began to laugh. This made Jessica furious and frustrated. "Pink
roses need to be destroyed," The meanest fairy yelled and threw the
green seeds onto the grass. Jessica ran towards the patch of roses and
stamped her feet. "You can't kill them. They are mine," she shouted.
The meanest fairy threw the seeds over Jessica making her fall onto the
rose bed. "Ha. I got rid of the roses and I can make it into a dark
land," The meanest fairy giggled. She knew that Adam would not come out
to fight. "Bye", she giggled and flew out of the garden.
Latter that night, when the fairies were having their tea party,
Jessica opened her eyes. She could see all of her friends laughing and
joking. None of them were sad. She didn't understand. "You saved the
pink roses. You are our hero," Adam spoke in a loud voice. All of the
fairies stopped talking. They began to look at her. "Help me. I can't
stay on the bed of roses. They are sticking in me," Jessica pleaded. As
Adam picked her up, she had not realised what he had said before. It
took a couple of moments to brighten herself up. "You're glowing",
Sally cried in happiness. Jessica wanted to hug her. "Not yet. May be
later when you have healed," she sighed.
"What happened to the roses?" Jessica needed to know if the fairies
were all right. She did not want to work in the dark land. She hated
it. Sally began to laugh. Sally orders her to turn round. As Jessica
turned round she noticed that the patch of roses had grown along the
wired fence. She was glad that Adam had come and she was happy to see
the pink roses growing. "Can I join in? I would like to have tea. Can
Adam come?" she asked her mate sally.
"Yes, Welcome to the pink tea room," Sally replied allowing Jessica and
Adam to join her Little Tea party.
