The following excerpt is from my work in progress. Originally called The Unseen, it is a psychological thriller with a suspenseful storyline!

Renowned journalist, Marla Winters loves what she does best...but her life...her family...her career... are all being destroyed for a reason that not even she can control. An unfortunate turn of events are uncovered and Marla blames herself for it all. Is history deemed to repeat itself?

I sat bolt upright in bed.

Something had awoken me.

I could see a shadowy figure lurking at the end of my bed.

I blinked.

It disappeared.

Had I imagined it?

They looked at me as if suspicious of my sanity. “My parents think I’m crazy” I thought disbelievingly.

I screamed and kept screaming. For an instant, I felt a sharp sting as a needle slid into my arm. Then, within seconds, I felt no more.

Nothing could prepare me for what the revelation was going to bring. Not now. Not ever.

And the worst thing is: It all took place on my mother's death bed.
