THE ELEVATOR

The classical concept of an underworld after you die, as opposed to a heavenly hereafter, seems to me to be much like an elevator taking you a floor up, or a floor down. A floor down is the basement, and eternal darkness and damnation. A floor up is the penthouse and eternal bliss. Much like the wheat getting separated from the chaff, it is clean cut either way; the light getting separated from the darkness, and good from evil, eternally. If you were in this elevator, which one would you press ‘up’ or ‘down’? Which one are you pressing now? Good Luck!
