The Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom was a land of enchantment and mystery to all. It was ruled over by a good King who had a Wise Wizard as his closest advisor and friend. Where the wizard went he spun a charm of magic all over the kingdom and the flowers always bloomed prettily and the trees grew splendidly all over the green fields and flowers. The sky was always blue with pretty little white clouds floating all about high above. The sun shone on in glory and the winds were always fair and charming all about the land. The wizard’s magic made the magic kingdom a beautiful place to live for all and all was happy and at peace always. The years followed each other in an endless stream of joy and plenty and all of the people were content for the longest of time. Yet, one day the old wizard grew ill and passed away some time later of old age in his bed in his little cottage high up in the hills. As soon as he had passed the charm of magic that he always wove throughout the kingdom started to fade, and eventually it all disappeared for good. Now the coldest of winters set in at his dying day, and the trees and the pretty flowers were replace by snow and ice, and a bitterness of cold throughout the land. It was a long harsh winter with no food, joy or happiness any more. ‘What shall we do?’ said the old King sadly ‘For now that my friend has passed, all has come to ruin. Will the good old days then never return to my fair kingdom?’ And all wept with sorrow and cold season followed cold season and the bitterness of ice and snow endured forever. The sky was grey and overcast still and the snow and the ice would never stop again it seemed. A long, cold winter and discontent and loss followed them all for all of their days. Then, one day, a young maiden gave birth to lovely young boy child out in the hills, and on the very day that this boy was born, the first flowers started to bloom once more. The sunshine and the blue skies returned to the fair kingdom, and the world was happy and at peace once more. No-one knew why this was so but blessed the good times of love and peace only pleased that all was well across the land once more. No-one knew how this charm of magic came about them but high up above in the pretty night sky the Happy Star smiled to himself, he knew that a child of good fortune had been born once again. He knew that this little boy would one day become the grandest Magic Wizard of all and that he would spin his charm of magic and happiness forever and ever all over the land, bringing peace and happiness to all who lived in the Magic Kingdom still. And the flowers bloomed and the trees blossomed while the birds sang happily above. True magic never dies but returns to us all in the end.
