Beauty in the world

There is still beauty in the world, I know it's there,
A girlfriend sleeping, curled about you,
the stroking of her hair,
the line of the lips, the lines that slip, the oneness of a
relationship,
the feeling of simply being in a mind that's free from dreaming,
is something I can't help rating,
yet surrounded by such blatant truths I can't escape the hating.
But I know there's beauty in the world,
I know so I keep looking.
Not far away in distant lands,
not out of reach of mortal man
not past the rolling desert sands,
but right here in my hands.
There is still beauty in the world, I'll always know it's there.
A girlfriend sleeping curled about you, the stroking of her hair.
The line of the lips,
the lines that slip,
the oneness of a relationship.
The feeling of simply being in a mind that free from dreaming
is something I can't help loving,
and while surrounded by such blatant truths
I'll rise above the pushing and shoving.
I won't lose the beauty in the world,
Cause I know it can be found,
somewhere below the noise of the world is a gentle silent sound,
like a river flowing underground.
