winter butterfly

A thought,
a winter's butterfly,
streams across the midnight sky.
Your light,
a soul that drifts and skates across a silent pond on a winter's eve
captures the glimmer of a snowflake as it touches the tears that stream down your face.
You drift in love's embrace;
you the winter's butterfly that only grieves for the innocence of love.
One breath
is like a whisper of colour
as your wings glide into the abstract.
A bird rises then falls in the wind
dancing with love so pure
that I must hold, it close before it evaporates into my soul.
i enclose your heart within the circle of notes that rise and fall and languish into memories of summer moths and fireflies that burrow somehow in last year's autumn leaves.
You are the place where love will forever reverberate in a butterfly's wings.
You are my memory of iceland.
You are the comfort of the wind as i walked from your door on a reykjavik morning.
I smile as I touch the cloud that is the butterfly of your winter's soul.
