FLAMING PROJECTION
In shadows from a candle, I watch your body.
A faint flicker across your arm,
makes you, my love, softer than in daylight,
but no less radiant.
If music could take shape,
an orchestra would form the outline of your stature,
in a triumphant aria.
With the touch of my hand on your skin,
a brief interlude of quiet flutes and strings begins.
The shaking candle, a soloist adding vibratto.
This is an unending moment.
An infinite wish on a shooting star.
A steadfast stare, at the shudder of the first silent film.
Amazed while I ask, what the world thought of beauty,
before you existed.
