Neon Green Laces

You laugh like a kid and im thirteen! all smiles!
The look of a new pair of shoes!
You brought me neon green laces, to
tie them up.
Somehow the shoe became my heart,
crisscross, your green back and forth.
I'm bow tied tight for you.

your bike. King and Queen!
And somewhere in the day, between noon and
three, you said that King and Queen became you
and me.

We ride and scream, jump in a pond, but
sunset waves her magic wand.
I let you steal a kiss, the King and Queen
watch from your bike, lightning bugs
rise up from the grass, glowing bright as my laces.
Our hearts, my shoes,
crisscrossed and braided.
