he'd been reading in the paper about a man murdered by his own
brother. he found the story intersting at worst, comical
elsewise.
[summary:]
the man, Mr. X, was slain by own kin, also Mr. X, with a wicker chair.
the two Mr. X's, said friends of both, had always seemed close friends;
"an exemplary fraternity" said one verbose neighbor. there was a
falling out, recently, betwix the Mr. X's over a growing gambling debt,
and a certain "scarlet clothed strumpet"(said that same verbose
neighbor).
the "strumpet" was being held in custody until suitable explanations
could be extracted.
