In the classroom

"What are you doing?"
he asked with interest.
He came and stood above my head.
I did not rise my eyes, even to look at him.
"Are you solving the problems?"
he asked quietly.
No. I was writing to my parents.
"You aren't even trying them!"
he exclaimed with surprise.
I carried on writing.
"You should have finished them all
by now!", he shouted.
I kissed my parents.
Sent regards to my friends
and signed the letter.
Took my coat, turned slowly and left.
The hour was over.
