SONS AND MOTHERS
Curled round you like a comma
We stood against the christmas tree.
The bend to enfold you
almost halved my stature.
Your face leaning into mine.
I had never thought
I wore my heart
so starkly on my sleeve
until the blood
coloured the baubles red.
