'I thought you hated that place' Paul stated, over his bowl of
cereal, rustling threw the morning paper.
'No I've never hated it exactly, you're the one who's hated it. And I
never said those exact words' Helen replied folding his suit trousers
and testing the metallic iron. 'No you've always despised your home
town' Paul corrected checking out how England were doing against South
Africa.
'No I said that I despised the people not the place. Come on I grew up
there' Helen replied starting on the boxer shorts.
'Hum' Paul replied seeing that England weren't improving much. And
decided to move onto the crossword puzzle.
'All I m doing is going home' Helen stated to the paper.
'Coming home to roast, more likely' Paul rephrased filling 5 across
with his reply.
'So I want kids, haven't we always discussed going home to have kids'
Helen said, towards the paper but not her husbands face.
'No you have discussed it, I just mumbled agreement' Paul snapped back
jointing 9 down.
'What do you want Paul?' Helen said slamming the iron down.
'I want to be able to here a pin drop' Paul retorted back. Filling 12
across in.
'You don't love me any more do you?' Helen asked sure of the answer but
wanted the reply anyway.
'Puppy love' Paul jotted 9 down.
'Paul!' Helen cracked.
'What!' Paul growled back.
'Will you look at me' Helen demanded.
Paul placed down his paper and looked at his distort wife in her piny
and tears.
'I'm sorry love' Paul began.
'We'll go home to roast soon' He continued.
'As soon as you've finished that blasted crossword puzzle' Helen
snapped back. Storming to the front door.
'I'm of to my mothers' she screamed at the paper.
'Battle axe' Paul mumbled filling in 12 down.
'She may be that but she can at least help me now, unlike yourself'
Helen cried threw salty tears.
'What do you mean help?' Paul asked placing the paper down slowly,
eyeing his wife once more.
'Work it out Paul you're a bright person. I have a bun in the oven'
Helen replied bitterly.
'A bun, kid. Who's how's' Paul s asked puzzled by the turn of
events.
'Who's do you think, and believe me you already now how by now. Idiot'
Helen finished storming off down the street.
Paul took a raged breath and eased out of his chair, watched his wife
fade down the cobbled street to her mothers house. Dazed he sat down
